Joe started out, oddly enough, writing an absurdist comic for his hockey team to laugh at before games. The positive feedback from his teammates inspired him to continue writing. However, he really hit his stride as a writer upon discovering JCW and getting involved in NaNoWriMo, writing prompts, and workshops. He now has two novel manuscripts under his belt. Joe holds both a B.A. in geology and an M.A. in environmental management from Montclair State University and currently works as a professional geologist.
