Flash Fiction Friday: Too Cool For School

Flash Fiction Friday is our monthly themed short fiction/poetry and trivia contest.

This month’s theme: Too Cool For School

Sharpen your #2 pencils and put on your thinking caps, because it’s time to write! Whether you were a jock, a nerd, a goth kid, or something in between, now’s the chance to prove to your fellow authors that you didn’t peak in high school. After the readings, answer trivia questions all about the world of academe.

Sure, you can tell a tale, but can you do it in a FLASH? Time to prove it!

Tell us a story using no more than 150 words. Each writer will read their piece aloud (or get a friend to do it for them) and the audience will vote for their favorite. Winner gets bragging rights and the envy of their peers, so bring it!

After the readings, you have another chance to win! Test your topical knowledge with our interactive, multimedia trivia quiz, featuring photos, songs, quotes, and more. The trivia questions are based on our theme of the month, and we always include questions about writers!

Submission Guidelines:
The first 15 writers to submit their completed Flash Fiction Friday piece will be in the lineup to compete in the virtual event on Friday, 9/17/21 @ 7 pm.

Pieces must be submitted by 5 pm Friday.

Remember, your piece must be no more than 150 words. No exceptions.

Only one submission per writer.

FFF IS ALL ABOUT THE FUN. Keep it sweet and light. No politics. No religion. And don’t kill any dogs.
