Our guidelines are super simple:

One submission per writer.
Word limit = 150 words. 𝖭𝗈 𝖾𝗑𝖼𝖾𝗉𝗍𝗂𝗈𝗇𝗌.
𝖲𝗍𝖺𝗒 𝗈𝗇 𝗍𝗈𝗉𝗂𝖼: Apparently Gay (This can have several amazing interpretations!)
Pieces must be submitted by 11:59 pm Tuesday 5/11
Keep it sweet and light. No politics. No religion. And don’t kill any dogs.

About the Flash Fiction Challenge:

In partnership with Hudson Pride and the Jersey City Free Public Library, Jersey City Writers has transformed one of our most popular events, Flash Fiction Friday, in order to focus on LGBTQ+ community outreach. Over the course of four weeks, attendees will write, edit, rehearse, and then perform their themed short fiction pieces. This unique series of free workshops will challenge emerging writers to hone their literary skills and perform their work live online.
