The Temple Maiden: Carol Deminski’s Story

Jersey City Writers member Carol Deminski’s story The Temple Maiden has been published on the progressive literary website Gone Lawn.

CarolThe Temple Maiden was  inspired by two real life events for Carol. “The first was a trip to Oaxaca Mexico, including Monte Alban where I saw and photographed a turquoise encrusted skull. The second event was a pleasant exchange with a Mexican chamber maid in my hotel room during some travels to California. It’s often disparate and seemingly random snippets that can add up to a new work. That was the case with The Temple Maiden.”

Carol’s work has appeared on Word Riot, Pank, The Northville Review, Metazen, Dogplotz, and elsewhere.

In 2013, Carol was nominated for a Micro Award for her Flash Fiction piece Mother, A True Story; Father, a Lie by the editor of Blink Ink.
