Terrible Princess – Call for Stories

Call for submissions of stories for JCW Fantasy Genre Night in November. For this genre night we want to focus on female protagonists, girls and women who would make terrible princesses, such as Arya Stark or Princess Cimorene. Maybe she’s awkward, maybe she’s mean, maybe she’s rebellious and wild. It’s up to you!

Submission Guidelines

– Due to the epic nature fantasy, there is no word limit on what is published on the JCW website, but only 1,300 words will be read aloud (don’t send the entire novel, just the best chapter)

– Send attachments as .doc or .rtf

– Page numbers and title on each page

– Unpublished works only

– Three submissions maximum per individual

– If your piece is accepted, it will be published on the Jersey City Writers website.

– The reading will take place on November 19th (Location TBA) and each story will be assigned an actor. If you wish to use your own actor, you must include this person’s name, phone number and e-mail address along with your submission. Otherwise, we will provide an actor for you.

Please send submissions to JCWgenrenight@gmail.com

Deadline for Submissions: November 9, 2014

Selecting the submissions for this genre night will be Rachel Poy and Meg Merriet. All stories are read anonymously. If you have any questions regarding genre, the guidelines or anything else, feel free to shoot an e-mail to the address above.
